Competitive Exhibits Livestock

Livestock and Equine exhibits are a major tradional draw at all state fairs. Listed below are the times of  Livestock and Horse shows during the Fair.

Livestock Exhibits are open to the public daily 12 noon to 10 PM during Fairtime in the Largen Barn, Delta Barn, and Cluck Hut.

Horse shows take place in the Carroll Phillips and Leigh Carlson Horse Arenas.

 


Entering Livestock

To enter livestock, the exhibitor must first have a Fair ID number, issued by the Fair Office The exhibitor needs to report to the Largen Barn, without the animals, on Livestock/ Equine Registration day, with a clear idea of which animals are being entered. There are plenty of experts available to talk to during the entry day if the exhibitor is unsure or has livestock related questions. . Simply fill out the livestock exhibit form at the appropriate species table and understand the guidelines and ethics policies set forth by the TVSFA regarding animal care. Season passes and Livestock/Equine parking passes will be available to purchase in the Largen Barn at this time

All exhibitors wishing to reserve stalls must have the following items turned into the Stall Manager on Livestock/Equine Registration day.  You may also turn these items into the Fair Office prior to that day.

1. Stall Cards (one needed for each animal entered)

2. Copy of negative EIA (Coggins test).  This will not be returned.  The test must have been done within the current year.

3. A $20 deposit check per stall (no cash).

31st Annual 4-H & FFA Market Livestock Project Auction

Animals entered in Market Livestock classes will be offered for sale at a public auction on Friday August 13, 2010, starting at 6 pm.  Sale order of livestock in the auction will be based on  the order of placing in the market class, starting with Grand Champion and descending.

All market livestock will be sold to the highest bidder.

Livestock Entry Form Worksheet is now available to download.

Use this form as a worksheet to prepare for Entry Day.

Use one form for each species of animal.

Put showmanship classes and judging classes on the same form for each species.

Open and 4H/FFA  entries must be on seperate forms.

This is only a worksheet; you will have to complete numberd, multiple copy forms to submit on Entry Day.

Livestock and Equine Stall Cards are now available to download.

We require that Stall cards cards be printed on heavy card stock.

Stall cards on plain paper will have to be rewritten before thay are turned in.  

Each animal entry or pen of animals must have a stall card.

Use a dark marker and print in LARGE letters.

Please do not decorate the Stall Cards.

Stall cards must be turned in at the Largen Barn on Livestock/ Equine Registration Day.

THE FAIR IS UNABLE TO STORE EXHIBITS

NOT PICKED UP BY THE LAST EXHIBIT PAY OUT DAY.

Pay Out

Every winning non-livestock exhibitor may pick up award premiums

at the Summer Fair Office

Sunday, August 15, 2010 from 11am to 5pm in the Summer Fair Office

Premium payouts will continue Monday thru Friday, August 16 - 20, 2010 9am to 6pm

in the Fair Office in Lower Totem.

Livestock, Equine and 4-H Dog Show Pay Out

Thursday thru Firday, August 19-20, 2010 9am-6pm.
